Big 12 Football Media Days, a whirlwind, two-day news event at AT&T Stadium, is set to begin Wednesday morning with remarks from the league's new commissioner. Hosts Nick Farrell and Anjelica Trinone preview what we can expect during the unofficial kickoff to football season, which will also feature press conferences with WVU coach Neal Brown and four of his players Wednesday.

Longtime ESPN baseball analyst Tim Kurkjian is the latest guest on The Gold and Blue Nation Podcast, and he's a big fan of former Mountaineer Alek Manoah. In this interview with Ryan Decker, Kurkjian breaks down Manoah's presence on the mound, and explains why the pitcher's career with the Blue Jays has begun with so much success. 
Kurkjian also dishes on another former Mountaineer, John Means, who will miss the remainder of the MLB season due to injury. The Orioles ace is the only former Mountaineer to throw a big league no-hitter.

For the first time since 2015, WVU baseball failed to come away with a win at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship. Now, the Mountaineers must wait until Monday to learn if they'll get a chance to play another game.

The Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship begins Wednesday at its new home: Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. 
West Virginia enters the tournament as the No. 6-seed and is set to face No. 3 Oklahoma in the opening round. Get caught up on the bracket and biggest storylines heading into this double-elimination tournament with The Gold and Blue Nation Podcast, presented by Pritt & Spano.
