The long-awaited schedule for the Big 12's 2023 football season is officially out.

From coaching staff revisions to recruiting, head coach Neal Brown is approaching every facet of his job with the mindset that WVU must improve in 2023. During an offseason press conference, Brown, who is entering his fifth season at the helm, explained the logic behind coaching staff changes on offense, the reason why he hasn't made changes on defense and shared his thoughts on incoming transfers who have already joined the team.

The next batch of Mountaineers is officially signed and sealed.
WVU coach Neal Brown landed 18 recruits during Wednesday and Thursday's early signing period, hitting nearly all of his goals for the 2023 class. Headlining the list is wide receiver Rodney Gallagher III, a product of nearby Uniontown, Pennsylvania that has generated plenty of buzz in the area.

WVU president E. Gordon Gee has tasked new AD Wren Baker with guiding Mountaineer athletics through an "ever-changing landscape" in the world of college sports. What makes him equipped to do that? West Virginia football ended its roller-coaster season with another memorable win for the Mountaineers as they held off Oklahoma State for their first victory over the Cowboys since 2014.
Not only did they earn the win, but they did it through a downpour of rain and a chorus of outside noise that they prevented from distracting them. WVU called on a lot of new faces, including running back Jaylen Anderson, to step up, and they gave WVU fans a reason to hope for the future after a rough season.

West Virginia's roller-coaster season remains on the downslope after the Mountaineers lost their third straight game to Iowa State on Saturday.
While the WVU defense played well for much of the contest, the offense struggled to find any footing as the Cyclones rallied to stuff the Mountaineers and earn their first Big 12 win of the season. WVU is now one loss away from losing bowl eligibility, and its schedule doesn't get any easier.
